Chapter 6 ♥' My mother died at a young age. After giving birth to me and my brother, few weeks later, she passed away. My father who was an alcholic, went out everyday. He come back home and always beat me up. My younger brother, on the other hand, got beaten up by my father too. After years of beatings by my father, my younger brother left home. I could not tolerate my father anymore. After many decisions, I left home too. My younger brother did not come in contact with me. Because, people said that he already got hit by a car and passed away. ' said Ya Lun sadly.
' Im so sorry to hear that. ' said Ya Tou.
Gui Gui sniffed. She took a tissue and wipe her tears.
*sniffs sniffs* ' Why... such... a tragic thing... wou..ld.. happen to you ? ' said Gui Gui.
Ya Lun's heart sank. After the last porridge he eaten, cooked by his mother. She passed away few hours later. Ya Lun tried hard not to let out a tear. He tried to force a smile onto his face.
' Okok. Let's get eating. Stop thinking about those sad memories! ' said Ya Tou comforting Ya Lun and Gui Gui.
Gui Gui wiped her tears and nudged Ya Lun's arm to eat his dinner. Ya Lun scooped up the spoon of porridge and placed it into his mouth. After dinner, Ya Lun sat outside the corridor of Gui Gui's house.
' Should'nt you be back home now ? ' asked Gui Gui.
' No.. I don't have a home ' said Ya Lun.
' I've got a spare room. If you want, you can .. ' said Gui Gui.
' No.. I should'nt do that. ' said Ya Lun.
' Since we're classmates, why not ? ' said Gui Gui.
Ya Lun smiled and walked out of the house. He bid goodbye to Gui Gui and Ya Tou. He carried heavy footsteps back. Thinking of his mother and his long-lost brother.
Gui Gui closed the gate of her house, walked into the room. She then picked up her Stitch toy and said :
LITTLE STITCH!
*sighs* I wonder what's Wang Zi's thinking. I wonder if I really fall for him! I mean, I met him since young. But, he changed so much and, what's the book he's hiding ?
' I better sleep! ' said Gui Gui.
Before Gui Gui could sleep, she heard someone giggling. She opened her door softly and peeked outside. There was Ya Tou, on the sofa. She was talking on the phone. As there were three phones in the house, one in the living, one in Gui Gui's room, one in Ya Tou's, she picked up the one from her room and kept quiet.
A familar voice startled her - Ah Wei.
Gui Gui tried hard not to giggle, but she let out a giggle at the end. Ya Tou heard the giggle and asked Ah Wei if it was from his place. Gui Gui quickly hang up the phone and covered the blanket over her body. Ya Tou entered Gui Gui's room and saw Gui Gui sleeping soundly. Ya Tou left the room and heaved a sigh of relief. She did not want Gui Gui to know that she had already develop feelings with Ah Wei. She decided to keep quiet and keep to herself about herself liking Ah Wei.
Gui Gui smiled under her blanket.
After a day's sleep..Gui Gui got up from her bed. She yawned loudly. She made her way to the dining table. To her surprise, nothing was on the table. Gui Gui opened the door to Ya Tou's room, there was Ya Tou. Soundly asleep. Gui Gui smiled and went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.
' Lalalala ~ My favourite , scrambled eggs! ' said Gui Gui, cooking.
But, Gui Gui is a bad cook, compared to Ya Tou, they are two different worlds. Right infront of Gui Gui, is a pan with eggs, over-cooked eggs. Gui Gui continued singing. Then, Ya Tou came out from the room with panda eyes.
' What's that smell ? ' asked Ya Tou.
Gui Gui pointed to Ya Tou what's on the pan. Ya Tou quickly off the stove and placed the over-cooked eggs onto the plate. Gui Gui gave a curious look.
' Over-cooked! ' said Ya Tou.
Gui Gui gave an embarrassed grin. She took the plate and placed it on the dining table. She went to the toilet next with Ya Tou to brush her teeth and wash her face. Ya Tou had biscuits and Gui Gui had her over-cooked eggs. Ya Tou didn't cook as they were late for school. Surprisingly, Gui Gui forgotten about what Ya Lun told her - medical leave. They changed into their school uniforms and proceed to school.
Meanwhile, Xiao Jie waited at the place where she was suppose to meet up with Ya Tou & Gui Gui. But, since, she did'nt see them anywhere, she went to school first. While she was running, Ya Tou called Xiao Jie on the phone and told her to go to school first. Luckily, Xiao Jie (Boy) cycled to school, when he saw Xiao Jie ( Girl )
Please note that now, Girl Xiao Jie would have her name changed to Mini, her english name.Xiao Jie told Mini to get onto the bike. And he'll cycle her to school as she was already late. Xiao Jie cycled quickly, as they were both late for class.
On the other side...' Gui! Faster. We're late. ' said Ya Tou.
' Okok! Coming. ' Gui Gui rushed out from the door. She took her bag and held onto Ya Tou's hand.
Together, they ran to school, hand in hand. When they reached the classroom, another teacher was here.
' Relief teacher! ' whispered Ya Tou.
Gui Gui grinned and tried to think of an excuse.
' To the principal office, now! ' said the relief teacher.
Gui Gui was surprised. Never once, had she been called to the principal office when she is late. Ah Wei came in next. He was late too. Ya Tou nudged Ah Wei's arm. Ah Wei looked at the relief teacher and wanted to proceed to the principal office. Ya Tou grabbed Ah Wei's arm. Ya Lun stood up.
' Teacher, Gui Gui was sick, so, she came to school late. And, Ya Tou had to take care of her. ' said Ya Lun.
Luckily, the relief teacher let off Gui Gui and Ya Tou. But, Ah Wei needed to go to the principal office. Ya Tou finally thought of an excuse for Ah Wei. Miraculously, the principal let him off with a warning. Ya Tou was glad.
Gui Gui sat beside Wang Zi. Wang Zi took a peek at Gui Gui. But, Gui Gui was looking at Ya Lun. She smiled at Ya Lun happily. During recess, Ya Tou, Mini, Gui Gui, Ya Lun, Ah Wei and Xiao Jie had their recess together. Gui Gui thanked Ya Lun for the excuse of being late. Wang Zi sat alone at another table.
' Why dont you ask Wang Zi to come sit here ? ' whispered Gui Gui to Ya Lun.
' He must be lonely! ' replied Ya Lun whispering.
Gui Gui giggled softly. Ya Lun walked off and told Wang Zi to join them for recess. Wang Zi declined the invitation. But, Ya Lun saw a scar on Wang Zi's hand.
' That scar... ' thought Ya Lun.
